WHY THEY NEED IT

College Seniors: This is the time to get everything tidied up and ready to go. If there are areas in your student’s background that are lacking, they have time to improve them. Have they had paying jobs, internships, self-starter projects, joined clubs, volunteered? If not, there’s time to supplement their experience. We’ll prepare them for job fairs and other interview opportunities that come up throughout senior year, so maybe they can be among the elite 30% that graduate with a job! But no matter what, they’ll be ahead of the game and ready to hit the ground running once they graduate.

New Grads: It’s go time. It might be past go time. There might be stress and uncertainty keeping your grad from getting out into the world.

This is a huge transition time -- as momentous as leaving home for college, and likely more so. Most parents feel hugely relieved when their student graduates. But students may be more anxious about this phase than any other in their lives. Plus, they’re likely feeling the loss of their college friend group, the independence they enjoyed and the relative lack of responsibility they had.

New Grad New Job understands this dynamic and we can help.

IS FINDING A JOB THAT HARD?

Finding a job is a learned skill and it takes a lot of guts and confidence. It’s not something people automatically know how to do, especially young adults who may have little to no experience in a professional setting or outside of typical teenage hourly jobs. If you add in other very common issues new grads face: anxiety, peer pressure, parental expectations (real or imagined), shyness, or unclear career direction; it can easily lead to confusion, intimidation and paralysis in the job search.

And given the drastic changes that have happened in our job market recently, finding a job is not easy. It’s a sophisticated and nuanced process requiring daily attention and organization. In a time of tremendous competition for fewer jobs, the candidate who is best prepared is the candidate who will get the job.

DIDN’T THEIR UNIVERSITY TEACH THEM THIS?

You may wonder, “Isn’t this something the college career center should have covered?” “Isn’t that part of what I paid for?” Well, the reality is that some universities have excellent career centers, and some don’t, but understandably, most college career centers do not have enough resources to help every graduating senior. Plus, as in everything, some students seek out help and some don’t.

Our Career Launcher Workshop Webinar Series and Resume and LinkedIn Power Edits can give your student the tools and confidence they need to launch.

FOR CAREER CENTERS

New Grad New Job honors the work you do every day with students to prepare them to take their first steps into the “real world.” But we know that as hard as you work you likely can’t spend enough time with each student, nor can you reach each graduating senior each year.

New Grad New Job can help. We can work in partnership with your school’s career center to extend your reach:

WEBINAR WORKSHOP FOR RECENT GRADS: Given it's virtual format, we can help you help your graduates even after they've left campus. Let's discuss how to showcase our Career Launcher Workshop Webinar Series for your recent graduates. Whether it's a co-branded series promoted through your university, referrals to grads through your career center website or outbound marketing, we want to work together. Let's chat!

WEBINAR WORKSHOP FOR SENIORS: Bring the Career Launcher Workshop Webinar Series to your current seniors. Students participate together in our live webinars. They'll learn how to showcase their experience, how to identify and augment their background if it needs bolstering, how to prepare for job fairs and internships, interview, networks and much more. Give them a leg up on landing a job before graduation, or prepare them to hit the ground running.
